The fire was brought under control only after four hours of strenuous efforts of the locals and personnel of Nepal Police, according to Prakash JC, a local.

According to Bal Bahadur Rokka, another local, the fire spread quickly due to the prolonged dry spell.

As the fire destroyed both the shelter and food of the victims, they are worried how they are going to survive the harsh cold. The district has a temperature of around minus five degree Celsius these days.

Chief District Officer Laxmi Prasad Baskota said the administration has sent relief materials for the victims.
