Fire guts property worth Rs 6 million

CHITWAN, March 18: Property worth six million rupees was gutted in a fire that broke out at Khairahani of Madi Municipality-4 this morning.

CHITWAN, March 18: Property worth six million rupees was gutted in a fire that broke out at Khairahani of Madi Municipality-4 this morning.


According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, the fire broke out in a godown of a local Madhav Lamicchane.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Narhari Adhikari, said that fire destroyed 70 quintals of paddy, five quintals of mustard, two quintals of wheat, 35 quintals of poultry feed, one refrigerator, one television set, three solar panels and one inverter and utensils. 


Similarly, 1,200 chickens and 1,000 chicks were burnt to death in the incident, he shared. Locals, police personnel and fire engines doused the fire which started at 4:30AM. The reason behind the fire is yet to be ascertained.
