DHANGADI, Nov 18: Property worth nearly Rs 180 million has been damaged in a fire that broke out in Dhangadhi on Friday night.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kuldeep Chand, spokesperson of the District Police Office, there was a loss of Rs 179.7 million due to the fire caused by an electrical short in the Bhandari Shoes Center located at a main market of Dhangadhi sub-metropolis-1.

DSP Chand reported that the fire engulfed goods worth Rs 55 million at Sarathi Hospital, Rs 3 million at Garima Polyclinic, Rs 12 million at New Sadhikshya Enterprises, Rs 7 million at Bhatta Traders and Suppliers, and Rs 5 million at Bhandari Shoes Center.
The Bhandari General Store has suffered damage equivalent to Rs 42.5 million, Madhumala Baby Shop has incurred a loss of Rs 6 million, Subhikshya Devi Shopping Center faces damages worth Rs 9 million, and the food warehouse has been impacted with losses amounting to Rs 40 million. Additionally, a scooter belonging to an employee, valued at Rs 220,000, was destroyed by the fire in the warehouse.
The fire started at Bhandari General Store belonging to Dal Bahadur Bhandari due to a short circuit on Friday at around 1 AM. Nepal Army, the Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and locals doused the fire with the help of four fire engines.
