Five killed, 11 injured in storm, lightning

KATHMANDU, May 22: Five persons were killed and 11 others injured in adverse weather events in the past 36 hours.

KATHMANDU, May 22: Five persons were killed and 11 others injured in adverse weather events in the past 36 hours.


The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has shared information that three persons died in a storm in Chitwan, while one each died in Khotang and Sunasari due to lightning related events.

Similarly, two persons were injured in the storm in Chiwan and eight others in Kailali. A person was injured in a lightning incident in Pyuthan.


The NDRRMA said adverse weather events occurred in 12 districts where five received the worst. The detail on the loss of physical properties is awaited.
