Five more Nepali nationals die of COVID-19 in United Arab Emirates

KATHMANDU, Sept 6: Five more Nepali nationals succumbed to novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the United Arab Emirates this week.


According to a press release issued by the Non-resident Nepali Association (NRNA), the number of Nepali nationals dying of COVID-19 in foreign countries has reached 200 as of today.


The NRNA stated that 80,216 Nepali nationals living in various 40 countries have been diagnosed with COVID-19 as of today.

"Of them, 60,110 Nepali nationals have been fully recovered," the NRNA stated in its weekly update. According to the NRNA, the umbrella organization of the Nepalis living in foreign countries, 56,777 Nepali nationals from various countries, who were stuck due to COVID-19, have been repatriated as of today.


Likewise, dead bodies of 299 Nepalis, who died in foreign countries due to various reasons, have been sent to Nepal.
