KATHMANDU, Mar 23: On the eve of 78th National Day of Pakistan, Flag hoisting ceremony was held at Embassy of Pakistan, Kathmandu today. Dr Mazhar Javed, Ambassador of Pakistan hoisted the national flag.

On the occasion, President of Pakistan, Mr Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister, Mr Shahid Khaqan Abbasi delivered special messages stating, ‘This day (March 23) reminded the great moment of 78 years ago when the Muslims of the sub-continent had made a commitment to creating an independent Muslim state by breaking the shackles of oppression.”
Officials of the Embassy, Pakistani community in Kathmandu and representatives of media participated in the ceremony. The reception was attended by Vice President of Nepal Nanda Bahadur Pun, diplomats, Nepalese dignitaries, senior Government officials, prominent political leaders, and Pakistani community members, and academicians, members of think tanks, businessmen, bankers, senior media representatives and members of civil society.
