Flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder handed over to CAAN

KATHMANDU, Jan 16: The Flight Data Recorder (FDR) and the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) of the Yeti Airlines ATR 72-500 aircraft that crashed in Pokhara on Sunday morning have been handed over to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).

KATHMANDU, Jan 16: The Flight Data Recorder (FDR) and the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) of the Yeti Airlines ATR 72-500 aircraft that crashed in Pokhara on Sunday morning have been handed over to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).


Kaski Assistant Chief District Officer Anil Kumar Shahi said that the FDR and CVR were found during the search by the security personnel deployed in the rescue. “The two devices were found. We understand that these tools will be the strongest evidence in finding the cause of the accident. We don't know all the technical things. Those devices have been handed over to the CAAN," he said.

Yeti Airlines' 9N ANC with call sign ATR 72-500 series plane had an accident in Pokhara on Sunday morning. The bodies of 68 passengers who died in the accident have been recovered, however, four are still missing. There were 72 people on board, including four crew members.
