KATHMANDU, June 9: The area around Melamchi River in Sindhupalchowk has been affected due to heavy rains. Floods triggered by heavy rain last night have damaged temporary structures on the Melamchi River.
Transportation service has been disrupted due to damage to a temporary culvert at the intersection connecting Melamchi Municipality-7 and 11. The road has been closed since the bridge was damaged.

According to the locals, the floods caused by the continuous rain have damaged the road built by placing concrete pipes in Melamchi. Locals of six wards have been affected by this. The concrete bridge was washed away by the flood of last June.
