BHAKTAPUR, July 31: The locals of Madhyapur Thimi Municipality-5 Radhe Radhe, Sangam Colony, Kamerotar land consolidation project have been impacted by floods that occurred last night. Following the flood, locals were engaged in relocating their belongings to safer places and relocating their vehicles to higher ground.
Similarly, underground shops and goods of small industries were inundated. Some individuals managed to save their belongings while others’ belongings were swept away by floods. Locals alleged that the flood in the Hanumante River did not enter this area, the problem has arisen due to the negligence of the Kamerotar land consolidation project and Madhyapur Thimi Municipality.

Likewise, over 70 houses from Balkot to Sirutar of Suryavinayak Municipality have been inundated. Marigold English Boarding school and the surrounding settlements were inundated and Balkot road was blocked until 9 AM morning. Not only the road was closed, but schools in this area have also been closed due to the floods. Additionally, the parking area of Microbus park in Balkot was also inundated.
Arun Saiju, coordinator of the RNA Group, said that police and locals rescued over 50 people from the Balkot area from 1 AM this morning. Bhaktapur has been in chaos since last night.
