FM Dr Khadka in London to attend state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II

KATHMANDU, Sept 19: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Narayan Khadka has reached London to attend the state funeral ceremony of Queen Elizabeth II of Britain. The British government had invited the Government of Nepal to the Queen's funeral.

KATHMANDU, Sept 19: Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Narayan Khadka has reached London to attend the state funeral ceremony of Queen Elizabeth II of Britain. The British government had invited the Government of Nepal to the Queen's funeral.


A team from the British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs welcomed Minister Khadka at the Heathrow Airport when he arrived on Saturday night. Nepali Ambassador to the UK Gyan Chandra Acharya was also at the airport to receive Foreign Minister Dr Khadka.

During his stay in London, Foreign Minister Dr Khadka will attend the Lying-in-State of Her Majesty the Queen and the State Funeral Service, sign the Official Condolence Book at Lancaster House, attend His Majesty the King’s Reception at Buckingham Palace and the reception to be hosted by the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, said Roshan Khanal, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Nepal in London.


The Foreign Minister will return to Kathmandu on September 21, 2022.
