“The FNJ Central Committee is going to submit protest letter to Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Information and Communications tomorrow demanding the immediate release of journalist Arjun Giri,” Acharya said.
A meeting of the FNJ Central Committee will take place on Thursday to decide on its further agitation programs, he added.
Police had arrested the editor of Pokhara-based Tandav Weekly Arjun Giri on the charge of violating Electronic Transaction Act. A local businessman had filed a defamation case against Giri, after the weekly published a news on Batas’ involvement in a land-fraud case recently.
