Food shortage in Bajura

BAJURA, Sept 6: The district is faced with food crisis at the very beginning of the fiscal year.  The Nepal Food Corporation depot at Martadi has run out of food grain stock now after the 250 quintal rice grain there was distributed within August.

BAJURA, Sept 6: The district is faced with food crisis at the very beginning of the fiscal year. 

The Nepal Food Corporation depot at Martadi has run out of food grain stock now after the 250 quintal rice grain there was distributed within August. 


Transport service to the district headquarters, Martadi, remains obstructed after the Sanfe-Martadi road was damaged by landslide. Food grains cannot be transported to Bajura from Dhangadhi as a result.

The NFC depot is currently distributing 30 quintals wheat at present and it has run out of rice grain stock. 


The Martadi depot had been selling up to 20 quintals rice grain daily. Trucks loaded with rice grain for Martadi have been stranded due to the highway obstruction.
