Foreign tourist arrival in Nepal up by 180 pc in March

KATHMANDU, April 4: The arrival rate of foreign tourists in Nepal has increased by 180.5 percent in March of 2022 as compared to the corresponding period last year.

KATHMANDU, April 4: The arrival rate of foreign tourists in Nepal has increased by 180.5 percent in March of 2022 as compared to the corresponding period last year.


A total of 42,006 tourists came to Nepal in March while the number was 14,977 last year.

The largest portion of tourists came from SAARC countries with 17,661, followed by European countries with 11,277 tourists in the review period.


India became the largest source of tourists with 15,013 arrivals to Nepal whereas the inflow of tourists from China has not improved. Only 431 Chinese tourists came to Nepal in March this year.
