Former Finance Minister Poudel expresses concern over budget presented by the govt

KATHMANDU, May 31: Former Finance Minister and CPN-UML lawmaker Bishnu Prasad Poudel has said that the budget presented by the government for the upcoming fiscal year has created a financial burden that the country cannot afford to bear.

KATHMANDU, May 31: Former Finance Minister and CPN-UML lawmaker Bishnu Prasad Poudel has said that the budget presented by the government for the upcoming fiscal year has created a financial burden that the country cannot afford to bear. 


Speaking in the discussion on the annual estimates of revenue and expenditure for the fiscal year 2022/23 in the House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday, Poudel said that the current government has created a lot of financial obligations for the country by presenting its full-time budget.

Poudel stated that the budget is not focused toward leading the country’s economy in the right direction. He also said that long-term plans and programs have been implemented without any preparation, adding that the budget is aimed at misleading the voters and collecting votes.


Poudel accused the ruling coalition of misusing state resources to its advantage. He said that the new budget has attacked the essence of the budget.
