KATHMANDU, June 4: Former member of parliament (MP) and a leading figure of the Nepali Communist movement, Bishnulal Tamang, popularly known as ‘BL Waiba’, has passed away.
He breathed his last at 6:20PM on Thursday while receiving treatment at Amda Hospital in Jhapa. Waiba was suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes.

Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center), Pushpa Kamal Dahal expressed his condolences to the bereaved family through a press release on Friday. “With the demise of Comrade Waiba, Nepali politics has lost a true nationalist progressive leader while the communist movement has lost a guardian,” Dahal said, adding: “Comrade Waiba was popular among farmers and laborers.”
Waiba is survived by three sons and two daughters.
