Former PM Nepal holds meeting with senior Sri Lankan leaders

KATHMANDU, July 12: Former Prime Minister and senior leader of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) who left for Sri Lanka on July 8 to partake in a special program organized by Communist Party of Sri Lanka as the main guest has held a meeting with senior Sri Lankan leaders.

KATHMANDU, July 12: Former Prime Minister and senior leader of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) who left for Sri Lanka on July 8 to partake in a special program organized by Communist Party of Sri Lanka as the main guest has held a meeting with senior Sri Lankan leaders.


Nepal accompanied by Nepal’s ambassador to Sri Lanka Biswambar Pyakurel met with senior leaders including Sri Lankan Prime Minister  Ranil Wickeremesinghe, House speaker Karu Jayasuriya, former Sri Lankan president Mahendra Rajapaksa, chairperson of Communist Party of Sri Lanka Raja Collure.

Friendly relation between Nepal and Sri Lanka, the birthplace of Buddha, expansion of people-to-people relation between the two countries, among others were discussed in the meeting.


The leaders of the countries that went through serious conflicts in the past also shared their different experiences about the resolution of those conflicts.


Nepal who left for Sri Lanka on July 8, 2019 is scheduled to return home on July 14, 2019.
