Former President Bhandari pays homage to Goddess Linga Bhairawi

KATHMANDU, Oct 19: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari visited the Linga Bhairawi Temple at Basundhara today and offered worship to the goddess Linga Bhairawi. The former president paid homage to the goddess on the occasion of the Navratri. The Navaratri is the nine days' period during which the goddess Durga is worshiped in her nine different manifestations. The tenth day is the Dashain, the main day of the 10-day Bada Dashain festival, the biggest festival of Nepalis.

KATHMANDU, Oct 19: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari visited the Linga Bhairawi Temple at Basundhara today and offered worship to the goddess Linga Bhairawi. The former president paid homage to the goddess on the occasion of the Navratri. The Navaratri is the nine days' period during which the goddess Durga is worshiped in her nine different manifestations. The tenth day is the Dashain, the main day of the 10-day Bada Dashain festival, the biggest festival of Nepalis.


Chairperson of the Temple, Ambika Shrestha said one thousand people have been visiting the Temple daily during the Navratri period to offer worship to the goddess. She said special aarati and avishek prayers are held at the Temple at 7 am, 12 noon and 7pm during the Navratri.

Temple priest Bajra Bala said devotees from China, Vietnam, Russia, India, Mongolia, Cambodia among various countries have been visiting the temple for offering worship even during the Navratri period.
