Foundation stone of Madhesh Agriculture University laid

RAJBIRAJ, Jan 23: Chairman of Janata Samajbadi Party, Upendra Yadav, laid the foundation stone of Madhesh Agriculture University here on Monday. He expressed happiness over the realization of the dream to set up the agriculture university, which, he argued, would contribute to the economic prosperity of the country.

RAJBIRAJ, Jan 23: Chairman of Janata Samajbadi Party, Upendra Yadav, laid the foundation stone of Madhesh Agriculture University here on Monday. He expressed happiness over the realization of the dream to set up the agriculture university, which, he argued, would contribute to the economic prosperity of the country.


"I believe the skilled human resources to be produced from this university would help create jobs and prop up economic prosperity," he said, vowing support from his side for the construction of the building.


On the occasion, Chief Minister of Madhesh Province, Saroj Kumar Yadav, pledged all sorts of cooperation to ensure finance for completing the undertaking. He encouraged the university people to move ahead with high morale.

Similarly, former chief minister Lal Babu Raut reminded that the decision to establish an agriculture university in Rajbiraj was made when he was the chief minister. He claimed that the endeavor would now be a pride project of the province.


Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, Gobinda Bahadur Neupane, also said it was a matter of pride to have an agriculture university in Saptari. It must be kept in priority because only agriculture could be a solid base for the prosperity of the province and the country.


Vice Chancellor of Madhesh Agriculture University, Dr Baidyanath Mahato, talked about the university. A total of 12 buildings will be constructed for the university. The multi-year project has been contracted for the construction at Rs 1 billion.


The construction will cover 26 bighas and 8 katthas of land, it was shared.
