Four arrested for flying drones without permission

KATHMANDU, July 2: Police have arrested four persons from Lazimpat for flying drones without authorization from the government.


According to police, four employees of Marching Ants Pvt Ltd were arrested for operating drones in Kathmandu without authorization from the government.

As per the law, drones weighing more than two kilograms flying 400 feet or more above the ground level need authorization from the Department of Tourism, Culture and Civil Aviation, and the Ministry of Home Affairs.


Acting on a tip-off that some people were flying drones without the permission from the government, a squad of police from Metropolitan Police Circle, Lainchaur, arrested four individuals for flying drones.


Police are further investigating the case.
