Four face case for smuggling counterfeit money

DHANGADI, August 9: The Kailali police have arrested four people on charge of their involvement in producing counterfeit money. Police also confiscated equipment meant for printing fake Indian and Nepali currency notes from the room of one of the arrestees. The arrestees are Khagendra Bahadur Rajwar also known as Khagendra Bam of Nainadevi, Dhangadhi sub-metropolis-1, Bhoj Bahadur Bam of Chure rural municipality, Pallav Raj Bhatta of Dhangadhi sub-metropolis-3, and Gokul Bahadur Khadka, of Bardibas municipality, Mahottari, confirmed the District Police Office, Kailali.


Of them, Khadka was arrested from Koteshwor, Kathmandu with the help of the Central Investigation Bureau on August 7 and three others were held from separate parts of Kailai on August 3 and 4.

Acting on a tip that the group was indulged in producing counterfeit Indian and Nepali currency notes, a special squad had been mobilized and arrested them. The printing machine was seized from the room of Rajwar along printed fake Indian and Nepali currency notes. They are being trialed under the case of smuggling of fake currency notes.
