The EC fined more than Rs 2,400 candidates for not submitting the report of the expenditure details of the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections that were held on November 20.
The EC issued a press release on July 25 and released the list of candidates saying that they had not provided information about the expenditure details. The EC had decided to fine 1,037 candidates of the House of Representatives and 1,298 candidates of the Provincial Assemblies, including RSP MPs Shrestha, Khanal, Parajuli and Gautam.
Despite claiming that they had already published the details of their election expenses in social media, the candidates protested after being fined by the EC.
