GANDAKI, Dec 31: Ambassador of France to Nepal Gilles Bourbao has paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister of Gandaki Province Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel at the latter’s office in Pokhara. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral relations and expanding areas of cooperation between the two countries.
While recalling assistance received from France to Nepal in the extraction of petroleum products and water distribution in the past, Chief Minister Pokharel expected continuation of similar help even in the days to come.

Relations between the two countries have been consolidating since the establishment of their relationship in 1949, Chief Minister Pokharel said.
Stating that tourism is the base of the development of the province, Chief Minister Pokharel expected additional inflow of tourists from France to Nepal as construction of Pokhara International Airport is soon going to be operational.
He also expected France's investment in tourism promotion and the hydropower sector of Nepal.
In response, Ambassador Bourbao said that France is ready to help Nepal in its multi-sectoral development. He also pledged to provide assistance for the promotion of tourism in the province and its adjoining areas.
