Fruit Soaking for Christmas cake

KATHMANDU, Nov 4: Radisson Hotel, Kathmandu ushered the ‘Fruit Soaking Event’ at Terrace Garden, on the fourth floor on Friday. A long table was set up where the elaborated ingredients were orderly placed. Women professionals including Pratima Pande, Edwina Logan, Edwina Champy, Muman Nepal, Baba Sarkar, and Rita Bhandary were invited by the hotel to honor the mixing.

Women professionals including Pratima Pande, Edwina Logan, Edwina Champy, Muman Nepal, Baba Sarkar, and Rita Bhandary were invited by the hotel to honor the mixing.

According to press statement by hotel, the event was commenced with the welcome speech and a brief description about the fruit soaking event by Anu Parajuli, Assistant Manager, Sales and Marketing. Then, Chef Utpal Mondal accompanied and informed the attendees about the ingredients and process of mixing. It is believed that fruits should be soaked and mixed for over a month prior to getting the authentic taste and flavor for Christmas cake.


The press statement further states that the attendees followed the chef’s guidelines and mixed the comprehensive list of dry fruits with spices, herbs, wine, rum and whisky. Meanwhile, the event saw the performance of a band playing Christmas songs during the fruit mixing event.
