KATHMANDU, Dec 22: Gandaki Province Chief Minister Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel has been elected as a central member of the Nepali Congress. According to the results of the 14th General Convention of the party held on Tuesday night, Chief Minister Pokharel won with 2,306 votes.
Dhubra Wagle of Tanahun and Chief Minister Pokharel were elected to two open posts in Gandaki Province. Wagle received 2,720 votes. Similarly, Shobhiyat Bahadur Adhikari got 2,034 votes and Resham Bahadur Baniya got 1,938 votes, according to the NC Central Election Committee. Similarly, Saraswati Aryal Tiwari has been elected as a central member under the women cluster.

Talking to media persons after his election, Chief Minister Pokharel said that the mandate of the current General Convention would be to move the youth forward, adding that the experience and learning should be handed over and passed on to the younger generation by maintaining dialogue between the younger generation and the older generation.
CM Pokharel had earlier been elected as a central member by the party's 12th general convention.
