Gandaki Province govt to intensify security at major transits over Omicron concerns

DAMAULI, Jan 12: The Gandaki provincial government has decided to tighten security at the major transits to the province in view of Omicron risks. As its part, the health protection and surveillance center at Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality in Tanahun district will be equipped with required health equipment and necessary human resources.

DAMAULI, Jan 12: The Gandaki provincial government has decided to tighten security at the major transits to the province in view of Omicron risks. As its part, the health protection and surveillance center at Aanbukhaireni Rural Municipality in Tanahun district will be equipped with required health equipment and necessary human resources. Similarly, free COVID-19 tests will be ensured and intensified.


Vehicles entering the province will be recorded and obedience to the health protocols monitored, said the surveillance center Chief Agam Prasad Upadhyay. "All people entering the province will be made to follow the health protocols. Suspected people will be under surveillance immediately. Health awareness will be provided."

The infected people will be kept in institutional isolation immediately, said Bharat Koirala, press advisor to Chief Minister of the province, Krishna Chandra Nepali. 


The government has also decided to ask the lower Marsyangdi hydropower office to let its lands be used for managing the surveillance center.
