Gender discrimination and violence against women will be eradicated: Prime Minister Deuba

KATHMANDU, March 8: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has stressed the need for everyone to be committed to ensuring the rights of women guaranteed by the constitution. He has also assured everyone that the government would do the needful to eradicate incidents of gender discrimination and violence against women.

KATHMANDU, March 8: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has stressed the need for everyone to be committed to ensuring the rights of women guaranteed by the constitution. He has also assured everyone that the government would do the needful to eradicate incidents of gender discrimination and violence against women. 


Addressing a program organized on the occasion of the 122nd International Women’s Day, PM Deuba said that all parties concerned should be committed to ensuring all the rights and entitlements given to women by the constitution.

Stating that the constitution has resolved to build a balanced, inclusive, and equal society by ending discrimination against women, PM Deuba said that women have equal racial rights, rights to ancestral property, safe motherhood, and reproductive rights. He also said that it was necessary for all three levels of governments to take initiatives toward empowering women


PM Deuba asserted that the government has launched a women's entrepreneurship and livelihood program under the Presidential Women's Upliftment Program to uplift the economic status of women and would make it more effective in the coming days.
