On the first day of his journey, he reached Hetauda by cycling 76 km. He has posted some snaps of Hetauda in his official twitter handle. It took him 2 hours to cross the Nepal-India border from Hetauda. He then cycled across parts of the Indian state of Bihar and finally reached Bairaganiya covering 118  kilometers on that day. He has posted beautiful pictures of farmers engaged in harvesting paddy.

It took him another few days cycling to reach West Bengal, another Indian state which shares a border with the  eastern part of Nepal. “After a few days I reached Dalkhola in West Bengal. Doing 110 to 125 km cycling per day since I left the mountains of Nepal. Weather is cold and foggy in the morning. My diet consisted mainly of masala chai, bananas and dosa,” tweeted Dr Prinz after reaching Dalkhola in West Bengal.

On the eighth day, Dr Prinz reached Brahmaputra River only 90 km away from his final destination. As bicycles are not allowed on the bridge he loaded his bicycle on a small van and crossed the bridge to finally make it to Bangladesh. He was warmly welcomed by the local administration there.

After nine days of his grueling bike journey, Ambassador Dr Prinz reached Dhaka by completing his 1,025 km journey. He was welcomed by Ambassador of Germany to Bangladesh Achim Tröster. “It was a fantastic nine day journey, which I will never forget,” Dr Prinz has expressed his happiness over accomplishing his plan to travel from Kathmandu to Dhaka on bicycle.

Ambassador Dr Prinz has thanked Ambassador of India to Nepal Naveen Srivastava and Ambassador of Bangladesh to Nepal Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury for their necessary support to facilitate his bike journey. “My thanks also go to many friendly people I met and to my wife Anuza who never questioned what many would consider to be a weird idea,” he said.
