GFNL announces eight 'Nepali literature ambassadors'

Kathmandu, Jan 30: The Global Federation for Nepali Litterateur (GFNL) has announced popular faces in the Nepali literature as literature ambassadors for the year 2018.

The Federation's global central committee meeting on January 28, on the recommendations of a selection committee comprising Federation's senior vice chair Surendra Paradeshi, vice chairs Denjom Sampang and Sagar Shrestha and general secretary Dr Lekhnath Kafle, decided to present literature ambassadors honour to eight Nepali-origin literary figures contributing to promote Nepali language and literature at home and abroad. Names of Nepal's mountain peaks above 8,000 meters have been added in front of their names in recongistion of their significant contribution to the promotion of Nepali literature, the Federation said. 


They are Sagarmatha-Prof Tulasi Diwas and Kanchanjunga- Prof Dr Tanka Prasad Neupane (Nepal), Lhotse-Mana Prasad Subba (India),Makalu-Teknarayan Rimal, Manaslu- Thakur Prasad Guragain (Myanmar), Choyu- Bhakta Ghimire (Bhutan-America), Dhaulagiri- Annapurna Laxmi Rai (Lara, UK) and Bhim Birahi ( India).
