Ghanshyam Bhattarai appointed as TU Service Commission chairman

KATHMANDU, Aug 16: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is also the chancellor of Tribhuvan University (TU), has appointed Prof Dr Ghanshyam Bhattarai as the chairman of the university’s Service Commission on Tuesday. Bhattarai is going to retire after six months. The position has been vacant since August 4, 2022. With this, TU Service Commission has got a chairman after one year.

KATHMANDU, Aug 16: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who is also the chancellor of Tribhuvan University (TU), has appointed Prof Dr Ghanshyam Bhattarai as the chairman of the university’s Service Commission on Tuesday. Bhattarai is going to retire after six months. The position has been vacant since August 4, 2022. With this, TU Service Commission has got a chairman after one year.


Bhattarai, who is also the head of the Department of History, officially assumed the position of chairman of the TU Service Commission on Wednesday.

The three-member recommendation committee chaired by the Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Ashok Kumar Rai, called for applications on August 8 and informed them to apply before 3PM on August 11. According to the same application process, the recommendation committee recommended the names of three people.


The appointment of the Chairman of TU Service Commission is carried out by the Chancellor on the advice of the Vice-Chancellor (Education Minister).
