GORKHA, July 18: The Benighat-Arughat road in Gorkha has been blocked after the flood damaged a diversion made over the Jadul river.
The Jadul river diversion connecting Bhimsen Thapa Rural Municipality-7 and Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-9 was washed away bringing traffic to a halt, said Ward Chair of Bhimsen Thapa Rural Municipality-7, Narayan Shrestha.
One-way traffic resumes on Prithvi Highway
The diversion was built last year. The wall on the right and left side of the diversion bridge has been swept away by flood water.
As a result, traffic has come to a complete standstill on the Benighat-Arughat road section. This has also affected passenger vehicles that regularly operate from Kathmandu to Arkhet through Benighat, ward chair Shrestha said.
