KATHMANDU, July 7: Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Gokarna Bista, has said the government is committed to utmost security of the Nepalis working abroad.
Minister Bista said this in relation to the Ministry-related issues of the Appropriation Bill at the National Assembly meeting today. Until the adequate employment was generated within the country, the government was for the countries that provide due wage and ensure safety to Nepali workers, he said, adding that the government was however confident that it would provide employment to half million youths in a year.
Minister Khand pledges workers’ security
According to him, it was planned to create jobs to as many as 100 thousand youths at 753 local levels. In the meeting, lawmakers Mukta Kumari Yadav, Ram Lakhan Chamar, Prakash Pant, and Badri Pande put forth questions before the Minister on how the government would make efforts to return the Nepalis working in a poor condition abroad, and how it would ensure jobs to the Dalit people. The Minister stressed that the government was not encouraging youths for foreign jobs. However, homework was on to send them for decent, safe and lucrative jobs in Malaysia and Japan.
