JAJARKOT, March 20: The government has reached out to geographically challenging and remote Barekot rural municipality after literally 51 years. 


The District Administration Office recently set up an integrated mobile camp in the village to provide government services to the locals. The total 1,130 local people acquired citizenship cards and 1,348 others registered for the voters' roll with photograph from the camp that ran for four days.

The locals were facing difficulties in various ways without citizenship certificates, said the rural municipality chairperson Mahendra Bahadur Shah. Any government team has failed to make it to the rural village deprived of basic facilities like road, health and education so far since 2024 BS, said principal of local Birendra Aishwarya Secondary School Gorak Bahadur Singh. 


Besides, the locals are facing hardship without basic facilities like road, hospital and education, telephone, bank. They have to walks hours to reach the district headquarters to avail of government services.


Nearby market is hours away. Goods and essentials are supplied to the village bordering Jumla district through mules and horses without transportation service, said the locals. As a result, they are forced to use buy essentials at high price. RSS
