Govt announces vacancy for post of SEBON chairman

KATHMANDU, Feb 28: The government has opened applications for the post of chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON). The Ministry of Finance issued a public notice and requested applications from eligible Nepali citizens for the post of SEBON chairman.

KATHMANDU, Feb 28: The government has opened applications for the post of chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON). The Ministry of Finance issued a public notice and requested applications from eligible Nepali citizens for the post of SEBON chairman.


Interested and eligible citizens can submit their sealed applications within 15 days to the Financial Sector Management and Corporation Coordination Division at Singha Durbar, as per the Ministry of Finance's announcement.

The applicants must hold a master's degree and possess at least seven years of experience in securities market management, capital market development, economics, financial or commercial management, or law. They must be aged between 30 and 65 years, with a clean record devoid of any involvement in crimes related to corruption, money laundering, human trafficking, drug dealing, antiquities, or protected wildlife.


As per Section 3 of the Recommendation Procedure 2080 BS, for appointing the SEBON Chairman, detailed documentation must be verified by the applicants themselves and submitted alongside two copies of passport-sized photographs, a business plan, and a receipt of Rs 5000.
