KATHMANDU, Jan 21: The government has banned travel of Nepali nationals to Gulf countries and Malaysia on visit visa. According to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) on Friday, the new rule will come into effect from January 24.

The MoHA said that the decision was made as there are complaints that those reaching the Gulf countries and Malaysia on visit visa even in the midst of pandemic are left stranded, often requiring support for their rescue. Nepali embassies in these countries have long been complaining that they routinely need to deal with such cases.
