'Govt committed to support women entrepreneurs'

KATHMANDU, Jan 16: Ministry of State for Industry, Kanchan Chandra Bade, has said that the government was committed to support women entrepreneurs by providing collateral-free loans.

KATHMANDU, Jan 16: Ministry of State for Industry, Kanchan Chandra Bade, has said that the government was committed to support women entrepreneurs by providing collateral-free loans.

Addressing the 25th anniversary of Wean Multi-purpose Cooperatives on Friday, Bade said that women empowerment can lower the number of people going for foreign employment.



Bade also said that the government was preparing to re-open defunct state-owned factories. Bade also said that the industry minister was planning to organizing trainings and other programs targeting entrepreneurs. “The government is focused on increasing employment opportunities,” he added.



Similarly, Rekha Aryal, president of Wean Multipurpose Cooperatives, said that the cooperative was helping women entrepreneurs by organizing different trainings and programs.



“We have also been exporting products of women entrepreneurs to countries like Japan, South Korea, Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada, amongst others.



Aryal also said that Wean has been organizing blood donation program and free health camps on a regular basis as the part of its CSR activities. She also requested the government to provide financial support to women entrepreneurs.



Different handicraft products and food stuffs were also showcased at the program.
