Domestic airfare goes up as govt introduces VAT starting today
Prime Minister Dahal, through his Press Adviser Govind Acharya, has instructed Nepal Airlines to conduct flights centered on Rukum, even if it requires the postponement of other flights.
Chaurjahari and Khalanga in Rukum West have airports, though the airport in Jajarkot remains non-operational. Only small Twin-Otter airplanes are operational in Rukum's airports.
Given the proximity of Jajarkot to Chaurjahari, the government envisions that services can be extended from Chaurjahari Airport to Jajarkot.
Furthermore, the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kiranti, has relayed instructions for other airlines to stand by at locations such as Nepalgunj and Surkhet, with a focus on Rukum.
Prime Minister Dahal also departed for Rukum this morning, accompanied by a medical team from the Nepali Army, traveling by helicopter.
