KATHMANDU, Dec 20: The government has fixed the minimum purchase price of sugarcane. Although the sugarcane farmers have been demanding Rs 750 per quintal, the minimum purchase price of sugarcane has been fixed at Rs 635 per quintal.
The government has decided that out of this, Rs 565 have to be paid by the sugarcane mills, while Rs 70 will be given by the government, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma stated.

She said, “The minimum purchase price for sugarcane has been set, with the industry contributing Rs 565 per quintal and the government contributing Rs 70 per quintal. Consequently, the farmers will receive Rs 635 per quintal for their sugarcane.”
