KATHMANDU, Feb 17: The government of Nepal informed the Supreme Court recently that it has already asked the Indian government to amend the political map and return the Nepali territories including Kalapani and Lipulekh encroached by the Indian side.
Submitting a written reply on behalf of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the government claimed that it has already requested the Indian government to amend the political map and return the territories to Nepal.

A single bench of Justice Hari Phuyal had issued a show-cause notice to the government, responding to a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by senior advocate Bishwa Prakash Bhandari.
In response, the government said that it has already taken initiatives to protect the territories of Nepal.
The government also stated that it has doubled border security in the disputed areas.
Justice Phuyal had asked the government to submit the original map of Nepal eight weeks ago.
Dilliraj Ghimire, secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, had submitted the written explanation to the apex court.
