Govt mobilizes 163000 security personnel for peaceful election

KATHMANDU, June 28: Nepal Government has mobilized 1,63,000 security personnel today for ensuring peace in the local level elections being held today in 35 districts.

KATHMANDU, June 28: Nepal Government has mobilized 1,63,000 security personnel today for ensuring peace in the local level elections being held today in 35 districts.


Nepal Police is leading the group of these security personnel. 8,364 polling centers and the areas surrounding them are  being protected by Nepal Police while temporary police and Armed Police have been assigned the task of giving protection to the outskirts of all the polling centers.

Even Nepal Army personnel have been deployed at the outskirts of such polling centers as are highly sensitive from security viewpoint, says Home Ministry.


CDO-led command post composed of heads of Nepal Police, Armed Police, Nepal Army and National Investigation Department is active in all of the 35 districts today to ensure that no untoward incident takes place on the election day.


Likewise, there is United Command Center at the center while there is a Command Center composed of Home Secretary, Peace Security Division Chief, chiefs of the three security agencies and Nepal Army representatives. These command centers have been kept in active condition today for security purpose.
