Govt plans to create 700,000 jobs in next five years

KATHMANDU, Feb 11: The government is all set to launch ‘Prime Minister Employment Program’ with a view to creating as many jobs as possible in the country, thereby preventing youths from leaving the country.

According to the program, the government has planned to create 700,000 jobs in the next five years.


“Under the Prime Minister Employment Program, a jobless Nepali citizen will be provided subsistence  as well as unemployment allowances. S/He will be given jobs equivalent to 100 days in a fiscal year. They will get vocational and skill-orientated training along with employment-related information,” Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Gokarna Bista told reporters at a press briefing held at the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security on Monday.
