Speaking at the press conference, FCAN President Ravi Singh said that restrictive policy has been brought by the government that allows small construction businessmen to take limited contracts. Singh also said that FCAN has a strong objection to the arrangement of allowing big construction businessmen to get three contracts in each category and five contracts for works below Rs 3 billion.

President Singh also reiterated that some intermediaries were abusing state funds by taking development contracts alone. The FCAN has made public its 22-point Kathmandu Declaration and said that construction holiday will be maintained in the market until there is control on price rise on every commodity including construction materials like bitumen, iron ore, cement and other materials.
