With this arrangement, one can avail the passport from his/her home district at Rs 5,000 while it will cost Rs 12,000 to obtain from DoP. Furthermore, in the case of lost or damaged passports, it will cost Rs 17,000 from the DoP and Rs 10,000 from the concerned district, said Sapkota, who is also the spokesperson of the DoP.

It may be noted that the cabinet meeting held June 7 had decided to provide a 66-page passport at the same price as the 34-page passport. Earlier, the DoP was providing the 66-page passport to frequent flyers at Rs 10,000 from the concerned District Administration Offices (DAOs).
