KATHMANDU, March 3: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Narayan Kaji Shrestha has asserted that the incumbent government has taken seriously the overall economy and the issues of the private sector.
Addressing the 15th Annual General Assembly and 8th convention of the Khichapokhari New Road Business Association here today, DPM Shrestha said that the government had taken cognizance of the private sector's problems and assured that it was effortful to resolve the private sectors' problems.

Stating that economic prosperity was possible only in the collaboration of the private sector, Shrestha said, "The common national responsibility at the moment is to make the country prosper. This responsibility could not be fulfilled by just one party.
He argued that it was the responsibility of the state to make the economic sector dynamic.
Similarly, Khichapokhari New Road Business Association Chairperson Ganesh Kumar Neupane said that the private sector had been crisis-ridden following the COVID-19 pandemic and stated that the government could not focus its attention on the post-pandemic revival efforts.
According to him, the issues in the economy surfaced as the government did not pay attention to establish industries in the wake of the pandemic. He stressed streamlining tax administration and paying attention to addressing the issue relating to under-invoicing.
