Govt steps up to take action against three contractors for delaying construction

KATHMANDU, Dec 15: The government has asked for clarifications from three construction companies, including Pappu Construction, for delaying work.


Issuing a public notice on Tuesday, the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction, Chitwan, called on three contractors - Pappu/Shiva Shakti JV, PS/Biruwa JV and Santoshi/Kanchharam/Danfe JV. Pappu Construction has been charged with delaying the contracted work of upgrading Haat Bazaar and Community Infrastructure Project in Ramgram Municipality-2. The company was awarded the contract on July 13, 2017.

PS/Biruwa JV took the contract to construct Ratnanagar Conference Hall in Ratnanagar Municipality five years ago while Santoshi/Kanchharam/Danfe JV got the contract of road and drainage construction in Bharatpur Municipality three years ago. The government authority has given a deadline of seven days to the companies to furnish their clarifications.
