It has also suggested the government charge a certain amount to the returnees to stay in such quarantine facilities.

According to Minister for State for Urban Development, Ram Bir Manandhar, the hotel business has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. “If hotels are changed into quarantine facilities, it will give some much-needed respite to the industry. Also, foreign-returnees will get health security as per the guidelines of the government,” said Manandhar, adding that the decision will also secure jobs of hotel staffers.

Likewise, Nawaraj Pyakurel, under secretary at the Ministry for Urban Development, said that the committee has also suggested to the government to manage recreational activities, and provide quality internet service at the quarantine facilities.
