Govt to compensate owner of taxi which was allegedly torched by cadres belonging to Dahal-Nepal faction

KATHMANDU, Feb 5: Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokharel has announced to provide compensation to the owner of the taxi that was set on fire allegedly by the cadres belonging to the Dahal-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) to enforce the general strike on Thursday.

KATHMANDU, Feb 5: Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokharel has announced to provide compensation to the owner of the taxi that was set on fire allegedly by the cadres belonging to the Dahal-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) to enforce the general strike on Thursday. 


Addressing the mass rally organized by the Oli-led faction of the ruling NCP in the capital on Thursday, Deputy Prime Minister Pokharel also said that the farmers whose vegetables were thrown away by the agitating cadres of the Dahal-Nepal faction of the NCP  in the name of enforcing the general strike would also be duly compensated.

The taxi belonging to Kumbha Narayan Shrestha was set on fire when it was parked at a roadside in the Gongabu area. Deputy Prime Minister Pokharel also vowed to recover the amount compensated to the taxi owner from those who torched the taxi. 


Addressing the national gathering of All Nepal Farmers’ Association in the capital on Thursday,  Prime Minister Oli had criticized the Dahal-Nepal faction declaring their strike successful by ‘throwing away the vegetables and tomatoes of the poor’. He had also vented ire against Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Madhav Kumar Nepal for organizing the general strike “to give troubles to the general public” as they chose to ride vehicles to travel to some parts of the Kathmandu Valley.
