KATHMANDU, Aug 29: It has come to light that the government had decided to provide Rs six million for the treatment of the former President Ram Baran Yadav in the USA. The government has also decided to pay for the business class tickets to and from USA and USD 300 daily allowance to the former President.

Likewise, three aides of the former President will receive air tickets and USD 150 daily allowances.

“A meeting of Council of Ministers had decided to that effect last week,” Chief Secretary Som Lal Subedi told Republica Online, “The decision has been already forwarded to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ministry will make all the arrangements.”

According to him, the Nepali Embassy in the USA will look after treatment of the former President.

Yadav was diagnosed with a prostate cancer during a health checkup in India. He is leaving for USA after the doctors suggested him to undergo surgery for the cancer.

Over Rs three million should be deposited at the hospital before the surgery. It is said that the treatment will exceed the deposit.
