Govt to resume railway service from April 14

KATHMANDU, March 4: Nepal government is all set to bring Jayanagar to Kartha railway service from Baisakh, the first month the Nepali New Year 2076.

KATHMANDU, March 4:  Nepal government is all set to bring Jayanagar to Kartha railway service from Baisakh, the first month the Nepali New Year 2076.


Nepal government is resuming railway services after five years since the procurement process is near to completion.

The procurement process is almost over, said Balaram Mishra, director general at the Railway Department, adding, “It is consuming time since the procurement deal is taking place between Nepal and India.


“The train will travel along the 35-km-long track stretching from Jayanagar to Kurtha soon,” said Mishra. The train will travel the distance within an hour.
