Earlier on Sunday, Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Dilendra Prasad Badu met Speaker Sapkota to inform him about the government’s decision to table the MCC agreement at the parliament meeting on February 9.

According to sources, Speaker Sapkota said that he would not be an obstacle to the process of tabling the MCC deal in parliament. However, he argued that it would be better to take a decision through discussions than to table the MCC amidst the ongoing obstructions in parliament.

Meanwhile, the headquarters of MCC had written to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal to accept the Nepal Compact Agreement by February 28 on Sunday.
