Govt urged to nationalize private medical colleges

KATHMANDU, July 22: The sister wings of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) have demanded to nationalize all private medical colleges.


The joint meeting of youth federation, young communist league, ANNFSU and ANNFSU-Revolutionary held in the capital on Sunday has decided to urge the government to move ahead with the nationalization of all private medical colleges which will be the better option for the government.

Following the meeting, releasing a press statement, the youth wings of NCP has said that nationalizing the medical colleges would be the immediate solution for the government to address both Medical Education Bill and ongoing hunger strike of Dr Govinda KC.


Referring to the preamble of the constitution, it has been stated that the nationalization or transformation of the medical colleges into nonprofit trust would ensure the norms of the socialism and would guarantee the fundamental education and health service rights of the citizen as mentioned in the constitution. Likewise, the meeting has also demanded the government to open medical colleges in all seven provinces.
